Cumplimiento de la Guía 34 del Ministerio de Educación Nacional
INTRODUCCIÓN
El Plan de Mejoramiento Institucional (PMI) es la herramienta que permite a las instituciones educativas avanzar sistemáticamente hacia niveles superiores de calidad. La Guía 34 del Ministerio de Educación Nacional establece la ruta metodológica que articula la autoevaluación institucional con el diseño, ejecución y seguimiento del PMI.
Las Secretarías de Educación evalúan periódicamente el avance de las instituciones en sus planes de mejoramiento. El incumplimiento o la falta de sistematización puede afectar la clasificación institucional y, en el caso de establecimientos privados, su régimen de tarifas.
¿QUÉ EXIGE LA NORMA?
Las instituciones educativas deben:
- Realizar autoevaluación institucional anual de las cuatro gestiones (Directiva, Académica, Administrativa/Financiera, Comunitaria)
- Elaborar el perfil institucional identificando fortalezas y oportunidades de mejoramiento
- Desarrollar análisis DOFA institucional
- Formular objetivos, metas e indicadores de mejoramiento
- Diseñar actividades con responsables, cronogramas y recursos
- Ejecutar el plan con seguimiento periódico
- Evaluar resultados y realizar ajustes
- Difundir avances a la comunidad educativa
Los resultados del PMI deben articularse con los resultados de pruebas externas (Saber) y alimentar la actualización del PEI.
